Your account comes with a UK account number and sort code, so you can receive payments from any UK bank.

Payments

You can send and receive payments using several secure methods:

  • Faster Payments – near-instantaneous transfers between UK banks.
  • CHAPS (Clearing House Automated Payment System) – ideal for high-value, same-day transactions.
  • Bacs (Bankers' Automated Clearing Services) – a reliable option for scheduled payments such as salaries and Direct Debits.

Direct Debits

Direct Debits let you set up regular, automated payments to any third-party service provider — great for recurring bills such as mortgage payments, utility bills, or subscription services. Once set up, payments are made automatically on time, with no manual action needed.

Standing Orders

Standing Orders let you set up recurring payments directly from your account — useful for regular commitments such as rent, donations, or savings contributions. Unlike Direct Debits (where the recipient controls the payment details), Standing Orders give you full control over the amount, frequency, and duration. You set the payment amount yourself, and it stays fixed unless you change it. You can adjust or cancel a Standing Order at any time without the payee's consent.
