Process Agent Services
What is a process agent?
A process agent is a person or company appointed to receive legal documents on behalf of someone else. If a party to a contract is based outside the jurisdiction whose laws govern that contract, the process agent acts as their local point of contact for accepting court papers, legal notices, and other formal correspondence.
Process agents are most commonly required in cross-border agreements — for example, where a company or individual signing a UK-law-governed document is located overseas. Appointing a process agent ensures there is a reliable address within the relevant jurisdiction where legal documents can be validly served, so proceedings can’t be delayed or challenged simply because a party is hard to reach abroad.
In short, a process agent doesn’t act on your behalf in a legal dispute — they simply guarantee that any legal documents reach you properly.
Does GetGround provide process agent services?
Yes. Process agent services are included as part of the Core plan subscription. If you hold a Core plan with GetGround, you are covered for process agent services at no additional cost — there’s nothing extra to purchase separately.
This means that when your company or structure requires a process agent — for instance, to satisfy the terms of a loan, mortgage, or other cross-border agreement — GetGround can act in that capacity for you as part of your existing subscription.
