Why is my accounting period longer or shorter than 12 months?
When are my company accounts and tax return due?
Your company accounts and tax return are due on 31 December every year, as set by Companies House. Your accounting period determines the dates covered by each filing.
How does the accounting period work?
Your accounting periods run as follows:
- First year: from your company's incorporation date to 31 December (this may be shorter or longer than 12 months).
- Subsequent years: 1 January to 31 December.
We will send you a reminder when your company accounts are due and guide you through the information required to complete the filing.
